Therapy options
T his is not a psychotherapy support group. It is a veritable internal shake-up that becomes cemented in groups, whether someone comes every month, every two months, every three months, or twice a year.
At the end of the first session, you will know already whether this therapy is right for you, for two reasons:
| 1. |
There, you find others who are in the middle or end of their therapy and who have been participating in groups for two or three years. You can already notice that for most of these people, their obsession with food has disappeared. They are no longer out of control about food and have changed their perspective on a number of levels: their values, their way of communicating with those close to them, and also the pleasure they get from life. |
| 2. |
Sometimes, one weekend is all you need to realize that, unlike in individual therapy, you have not yet been bored. Those who had been feeling anxiety or anger feel better after they express themselves. And those who have been moved, or touched in a positive sense, feel alive. Most people who come for the first time are seduced by the authentic and non-judgmental environment, in which they feel they can learn to exist amongst others with less fear. |
For people who aren’t free on weekends, I also organize week-long sessions that take place for a few hours in the afternoon. This option leaves enough time to both participate in therapy and explore one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
Setting
T he address where therapy takes place is 50 rue Rambuteau, in the center of Paris. It is a pedestrian street in the Marais in the place du Centre Pompidou (next to the MK2 movie theater). Metro Station: Rambuteau or RER: Chatelet-Les Halles.
On weekends, the group starts at 11 a.m. (arrive 10 minutes early). If your train or plain is late, it is not a problem.
- The session on Saturday morning is very long, and sometimes ends at 14:30 or 15:00. (Participants are welcome to bring a snack.)
- We take a two-hour break for lunch in small groups in the nearby cafes.
- The group ends at 19:30. (It is not advised to make definite plans for after the group. Ideally, instead of going out, you will use the time to relax. It’s not that the group is especially lively, but when emotions are involved, you generally get tired.
- The schedule on Sunday morning is the same as on Saturday. We have lunch at around 14:30, but only for an hour and a half. The session ends at 18:30. Some people leave earlier to catch a train or plane.
For sessions that take place during the week, the group runs from Monday through Friday, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
